Owned by this Mother Daughter duo, Appalachian Gift & Co. was launched as the rebranded Whitesburg ARH Hospital Gift Shop in 2024.

 

Previously known as The General Store Xpress, the gift shop was operated by the Scott Family along with The General Store at Pine Mountain Crossing. The Scotts' begin their entrepreneurial journey during the peak of Covid-19 as they worked to build a brand that captured the essence of small town, rural Appalachian. With a Kentucky Proud Business distinction, the family focused on items made and produced in the state. The General Store became a hot spot destination for locals and tourist alike. Serving up food, great gifts, and special events and activities, they welcomed guests from more than 15 different countries.  However, things came to a crashing halt after the sudden and unexpected death of Ernie in March 2023. Not feeling up to the monumental task of continuing The General Store legacy on their own, Tiffany and Addyson decided on a fresh start and put The General Store at Pine Mountain Crossing up for sale.

                                                                       

After embarking on their own journey of Hope & Healing, the two found themselves embracing their new life, not moving on, but indeed moving forward. With their commitment to community and small business development, the two decided to relaunch the Hospital Gift Shop and build their own, smaller boutique brand. With a focus on Gifts That Inspire Hope & Healing, Tiffany and Addyson are committed to helping you encourage and uplift others.
